. . . . . . + . . . . . (part 006)

'the blue post': Tina and I had our 3rd project meeting over skype this morning. We had a lovely talk about the poetry of old things, so this little post is dedicated to the colour blue and the use thereof. From the top; a remnant of an old project of mine, made from a tablecloth found in a charity shop. 2nd from top; more charity shop finds, 3rd; a heirloom of mine + an old English plate I found in a Halifax antique shop; I like the tattoo-like bleeding of the colours on the latter.

'the white post': working happily away on the project with Tina, this is a bit of a tangent though, exploring stripes becoming 3D (in progress) + lovely green 2nd hand embroidery thread to be used later + some images from the last weeks' snow

. . . . . . + . . . . . (part 003)

I'm back in Canada now and looking through my things for nice colours and patterns for our project + making little sewing and embroidery tests on some of the fabric Tina and I selected in Copenhagen.

stuffed sitting rabbit #39

this wee rabbit is a copy of my first ever stuffed toy which I found in my parent's basement. The pattern will need some tweaking before I embark on more of these ones. Oh, and I think the ears may be a tad too big.... * SOLD *

stuffed flat rabbit #37

same tablecloth as #13 + #14, slightly different ear-position.

once again, more flat rabbit buddies

#35 + #36.

stuffed flat rabbit #36

.... same tablecloth as #35, only reversed. * SOLD *

stuffed flat rabbit #35

this flat rabbit is made from an old 2nd hand tablecloth.

. . . . . . + . . . . . (part 002)

Tina and I have been busy sewing tests pieces and selecting fabric for our collaborative project.

. . . . . . + . . . . . (part 001)

Last spring Tina and I started working together on a few ideas while I was in Copenhagen. This winter we've picked it up again and will continue the dialogue across the Atlantic when I'm back in Canada. Tina and I met in 2008 at NDK in Norway and became friends and shared our mutual interest in old homemade things, and may incorporate some of the ideas that we were both looking at back then into this new project.
